My boys turned two and four last month. They were SO thrilled with their birthday party at the Nature Center here in Memphis. Nothing beats the enthusiasm my kids have for their own birthday party! Knowing this, I especially enjoyed painting them something special for their invitations. Making something for their birthday invitations is always the first new painting I do of every New Year, a tradition I started when Seth turned one. This year I took it a step further and made Thank You notes too. I think they'd be cute for any nature lover to use, so I have them listed now in my Etsy shop.
I've had my Etsy shop for a little over a year now. It's been working really well for me, and recently I decided to have all of my online sales go through Etsy. It's easier for me to keep track now that all of my orders are going through the same place, and their shipping rates are about as good as it gets. Did you notice USPS ever so slightly upped their rates again at the beginning of this year? Probably not, but I did! Switching all of my items over to my Etsy shop is a work in progress, and it's led me down the path of wanting to give my whole website a facelift, which is a good thing! I'm slowly working on that, and I have two new Memphis paintings in the works too that I'm really excited about. My goal is to have three new watercolors finished by April 1st. That's because I just submitted my registration fee for the Overton Square Crawfish Festival, and it's on Saturday, April 8th this year. Mark your calendar!
