He favored his cowboy boots so much he wore a hole in the toe, so now he stomps all over the yard (and the house) in what he calls his "nature boots." Year round. In his world, boots are always appropriate footwear.

And there's my little Scotty, who' s turning 2 next month, depicted in his Mickey Mouse shorts, a rare non hand-me-down item that I bought for him before our Disney World Trip last summer. Scotty loves pushing that rusted metal Tonka truck all over our backyard. Same as Sawyer did. And Seth before him.

And then there's Rusty. Good 'ol Rusty. He's 10 now! He hates Nerf guns and out-of-nowhere ninja moves, but he's a really good sport when the kids want him to wear a hat or a costume or be draped in blankies. This past Halloween Rusty wore a black and orange football jersey that said "Wide Retriever" but I changed it to an Ole Miss jersey for this painting. We love our Rebs and Ole Miss is where Robert and I met and spent our newlywed years, so I always like to work that in somehow.

No telling what my next version of this painting will look like a few years from now. I guess only time will tell!
