It rained all day yesterday and this morning I walked out to much cooler weather. Finally, it actually feels like September, and I’m ready to say so long to summer. It was a good one y’all. And I’ve got empty cans of OFF, a tan line, and a growing baby bump to prove it. Yup, you read that right. I’m pregnant, and WE ARE SO EXCITED!! Baby #2 will be here in January. Seth and I made a video to reveal the news to Robert. If you watch it all the way to the end you’ll see how Rusty feels about this new addition. Interview with Seth from Holly Johnson on Vimeo. So summer, Seth’s top requests daily were: outsi’ (outside), ‘nacks (snacks), and bubbles. He requested these three items over and over so many times every day that we eventually adopted outdoor living, installed a vending machine on the porch, and purchased a 55 gallon drum of bubbles. Ok, I’m exaggerating a little, but I swear we nearly lived outside this summer. Please refer back to “empty cans of OFF” as stated in the first paragraph. You don’t go through cans by just sitting in your living room. Halfway through the summer and apparently high on OFF fumes, we decided to just go for it in regards to our kitchen. All in, baby! As in, let’s completely gut the kitchen, open it up to the dining room, and install new everything. So what if we have to move a doorway, re-wire some electrical, rip down wallpaper, replace the ceiling, hang new drywall… need I go on? Robert is DIYing the entire massive project, which really just means he’s dying. I considered trying to get him on that t.v. show on the DIY Network called “Rescue Renovation” (how much would he love me?!!) but it appears as though they’re not currently accepting applications. So onward with the kitchen thing. Sorry, Rob. And onward with a new season! Here’s to blue jeans, and football, and that little nip in the air where you just can’t decide if you should bring your jacket or not. I’ve got three art festivals lined up for this fall and the first one is tomorrow!
I’ll be at the Cooper Young Festival in space #140 (on Cooper, near Oliver. Across from the Celtic Crossing). The Cooper Young Festival takes place right in my neighborhood, and it's my absolute favorite one to do. It's like a big street party so come check it out! It starts at 9 am and lasts til 7pm, and there's no admission charge. Hope to see you there!
