I'm starting to get excited about "festival season".  I really enjoy hanging out outside, chatting with people who stop in my tent, and seeing what other artists and craftspeople have been up to.  You can find the most unique items at these things!

This year I'll be attending 5 events...

Friday, April 13th & Saturday, April 14th
First up is the Up, Up, & Away Hot Air Balloon Festival in Tupelo, MS.  I've never been to this festival before, but it's not that far of a drive for me, and it looked like it would be fun with the hot air balloons and all.  I'm excited about giving it a go!

Saturday, April 21st
Cotton District Arts Festival in Starkville, MS.  This will be my 4th year at this event.  They have live music and local food, and I like to keep an eye out for the pet parade that walks by in the morning ;)  This festival also coincides with Super Bulldog Weekend so that sweetens the pot for a lot of people!

Saturday, April 28th
Double Decker Festival in Oxford, MS.  When I was in college at Ole Miss we looked forward to this every year, mostly for the live bands and social scene.  It never crossed my mind that one day I might be one of the artists selling their work.  Who knew?  This festival also has an awesome children's area with face painting, arts & crafts activities, storytelling, a moon bounce, a train... the works!  

Thursday, May 10th
The Canton Flea Market in Canton, MS is always the 2nd Thursday of May and October.  It's held on the lawn of the Madison County Courthouse.  No games, music, or 5k's here; just straight shopping!!  And there's plenty to choose from.  This is one of the largest outdoor craft markets in the South.

Saturday, May 19th
Last, but certainly not least- Hernando, Mississippi's A'Fair.  A laid-back, fun, friendly event!  Good food, good music, and to top it off, I'll have good company!  My talented cousin (who by the way is actually from Hernando) will be sharing a tent with me and selling her awesome photos.
