Hey, guess what?!!

It's probably about time I shared this tidbit...

Due January 15th!  and we couldn't possibly be more excited about it!!  Especially excited to share the news here too since this baby will soon be "helping" me right alongside Rusty in my studio.  Should be interesting. 

And since I'm already talking about babies, here's a portrait I finished last week.

Obviously the focus here is on the baby (and she is super cute) but please direct your attention for a moment to those blue jeans.  I was pleased as pie with the way they turned out. 

In the past I've used Prussian Blue and Cerulean Blue to paint blue jeans, but this time I tried Indigo and Turquoise and was much more satisfied with the results.

Turquoise + Indigo = Denim. Aha!!

I'm still working on my portraiture skills.  There's so much to learn in that department.  And heaven knows I don't know anything about caring for a baby.  Lots to learn there too. 

But painting denim?

That I think I can handle now!
