Sunday was my birthday and it was awesome all day long. For starters I woke up to streamers and balloons.
Followed by breakfast at a local place I've been wanting to try.
And ice cream cake that we accidentally let sit out and melt but still ate anyway.
The afternoon was spent in the pool with friends.
And we spent the evening with my family at the Memphis Redbirds game.
The Redbirds are a minor league baseball team associated with the St. Louis Cardinals. They play downtown at Auto Zone park, and several years ago I did a painting of the park entrance for my brother.
The painting was done using black and white acrylic paint. I just mixed the black and white together to get all the shades in between. I can't remember exactly how long it took me, but it certainly wasn't done overnight.
This next painting, however, literally was done overnight. It was an assignment for one of my classes back in college. I'm sure I was given a decent amount of time to work on it, but I found myself barely started the day before it was due. To finish, I worked on it all night long, straight through until morning.
I didn't realize how blurry the digital image was until I uploaded it tonight. I guess image resolution just wasn't that great back when I was 20... TEN YEARS ago.
Hey, I'm Holly
I live in Raleigh, NC with my husband and our two (soon to be three!) boys. I stay at home with my kids and make art, and messes, and memories.
