There are two things I mark on my calendar every fall- the Ole Miss football schedule and the fall festivals I'll be attending. Makes for a lot to look forward to! I'll spare you the Ole Miss football schedule and just share my festival dates. First up, the Cooper Young Festival in midtown Memphis on Saturday, September 15th. I've attended this event for the past 5 years but this year, thanks to our recent home purchase, it is literally half a mile from my house. Hooray for catching a few extra ZZZ's that morning! The festival is from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and it's a ton of fun. It's sort of like a big all day street party!
Next, I'll be in Canton, MS for the Canton Flea Market on Thursday, October 11th. The fall market is always ginormous with a ton of artists and craftspeople and you're bound to find something you can't live without. Especially if you come by my tent :) After Canton, I'll be boot scootin' it back to Memphis as fast as I can for the Pink Palace Crafts Fair which happens to start the very next day Friday, October 12th and runs through Sunday, October 14th. The Pink Palace Crafts Fair is a juried show in it's 40th year and consists of artists from all over the country. You'll find a wide variety of really exceptional art at this event and some of the more traditional craftsmen (think chair caning, blacksmithing, etc.) will even be demonstrating their creative processes. Last but certainly not least, I'll be attending the Handworks Holiday Market in Jackson, MS on Friday, November 16th and Saturday, November 17th. This is an indoor shopping event held every year the weekend before Thanksgiving. If you want to find unique, hand-made items for the loved ones on your Christmas list, then this is the place to be!
