Sharing a few invitations I've worked on this summer...
A Baby Shower-
The mom-to-be was putting together a children's library so the host and I thought a book theme would be perfect for the invitation. And lots of blue! It's a boy :) I had fun looking up my favorite book characters and deciding which ones to include. I tried to span the whole lot, from nursery rhymes to Disney. I've always wanted to illustrate a children's book myself. Maybe one day...
A Bridal Shower-
This is my cartoon version of Courtney. She looks way better in real life!
A Rehearsal Dinner-
This couple was getting married in New Orleans and planning to have a "second line" at their reception so I incorporated that around the dinner plate. If you don't know what a "second line" is (I didn't) it's a New Orleans tradition where the people follow behind the band dancing and celebrating, usually carrying parasols and waving handkerchiefs. For a few extra personal touches, the couple's dog is included in the line, the colors used are that of the bridesmaid dresses, and there are details in the handles of the silverware.
A Birthday Party-
This one is easily my favorite, probably because it's for my own little niece. OK technically she's not really my niece, but second cousin sounds way too distant. Her name is Leah and she'll be TWO on Monday! She's super duper smart and she told her mama she wanted Nemo for her party. Nemo it is!
