Some people like to clip coupons. Me and my dad like to clip comic strips. He's a dentist and for as long as I can remember he's always cut out the comic strips that joked about dentistry. Growing up I was the only other one in the house who read the funnies so I helped him. Every so often we'd gather up all the ones we'd cut out and add them to this big book he kept in the waiting room of his dental office. It was sort of our thing and for years we added to the collection. When I left home he kept right on comic strip clipping, and then a few years ago he sent me a strip in the mail that joked about art. We laughed about it, and I put the strip on my bulletin board. But then I guess he started noticing funnies about art more and more, so he just started cutting those out too and sending them to me. I started gluing them down in a book of my own, just like dear ol' dad.
Recently I signed up for Sunday delivery of the newspaper, so I've got that one day covered now, but my dad still keeps an eye out for me in the comics section the other 6 days of the week. Just one of the many things he does for me. Thanks Daddy. In your honor I'm posting a few of your finds.
Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!
